About Us

Welcome to BOLDER food/drink! We are tucked away in Western Howard County, located off Route 144 in Mt. airy, Maryland. Here at BOLDER, our menu is created with local flavors and innovative seasonal ideas emerging from the collision of ingredients and cultures to create BOLD flavors and new-American dishes.

Opening in 2016, BOLDER quickly became the newest hot spot in Western HoCo. We have been awarded many recognitions in the food industry including:
2017 Best In Dining by Howard Magazine (2nd Place for Best New Restaurant)
2018 Gold Daisy Award for Best Date Night Spot
2018 Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor
(Listed as #1 Restaurant in Mt. Airy, Md)
2019 Best Romantic Restaurant by Restaurant Guru
Listed as one of the Top 10 Cocktail Bars in Maryland by Best Things Maryland
Listed as Best Bourbon Bar by Great Bourbon Bars of America

When visiting BOLDER, please note the “flame” next to our signature entrees. These entrees have been given the flame because of their popularity with our patrons. We hand-cut every steak in house, purchased locally from Maryland’s own J.W. Treuth. Our seafood is delivered fresh daily like our wild Atlantic Salmon, tuna filets and large day boat scallops.

We hope that you will join us in our dining room for a romantic dinner for two by our fireplace, or laughs with girlfriends on our patio in the summer months. However you choose to dine, our Bolder family is ready to serve you!

Hours of Operation:
Tuesday-Thursday, 4pm-9pm; Friday-Saturday, 11am-10pm; Sunday, 11am-8pm with brunch from 11am-2pm

Covid-19 FAQ’s

Bolder food/drink is currently operating with limited capacity for indoor and outdoor dining with socially distanced tables. Please review our FAQ’s below.

Are masks required?

We require masks to be worn by all staff members and patrons while inside the building except when sitting at a table or the bar.

I have more than 10 people in my party, will we need two separate tables?

Parties over 10 will be separated into two tables in the same area.

Do you have a limit on dining hours?

We are asking all tables to limit their dining time to decrease their exposed risk to 1.5-2 hours.

Do you take reservations?

We are currently taking a limited number of reservations. Due to high volume of diners on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, we encourage you to make a reservation at least 5 days prior.

We requested to sit on the patio, but were seated inside.

When making a reservation, we try to honor all of our guests request. Reservations made will guarantee a table, not a placement. The patio is first come, first serve. If there are no available tables, you will be seated in the dining room at your requested time. You will also have the choice to wait for a table if you would like, but the wait may be after your designated reservation time.

What are your COVID-19 Hours?

Currently our hours are limited to:

Monday: Closed
Tuesday-Thursday: 4pm-9pm
Friday-Saturday: 4pm-10pm
Sunday: 11am-8pm; Brunch 11am-2pm

Do you offer curbside pickup for carryout?

We do offer curbside carryout. However, due to high volume of diners on Friday and Saturday we do not offer curbside during peak dining hours.
